I ‘ve been drinking this yummy concoction daily for the last week and will continue for a couple more – because it’s Christmas time!
For most of us, the holidays mean more sinful but delicious treats; (alcohol, refined sugar, probably some trans fat and chemical additive-laden prepared treats), less sleep and perhaps more stress.
In the body, all of this equates to increased INFLAMMATION. And inflammation contributes to a whole lot of not-so-festive and friendly stuff; like tummy troubles, candida, asthma, allergies, eczema, arthritis and much more.
This delicious drink tastes like eggnog (your kids won’t know the difference!) and has a whole lot of anti-inflammatory goodness in it. Add a little coffee, and it’s just like an eggnog latte.
As a bodybuilder, I’m always looking to add some clean protein to my snacks, so the addition of a scoop of vanilla protein powder also makes this a powerful high protein post-workout drink as well!
- 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk (anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal)
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 2-3 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1-2 tsp natural honey (or maple syrup for vegan)
- * optional 1 scoop protein powder of choice (whey or plant-based)
Mix everything together in magic mullet, enjoy!
